sKeep Appreciating Truck Drivers
Are diversity and inclusion important to your business? If yes, there’s still time to register for the second annual Women In Trucking (WIT) conference, Accelerate! Conference and Expo. The event takes place November 7-9 in Dallas, TX. After last year’s successful event, we expect attendees and exhibitors to double at this year’s conference. As a board member for WIT and a woman in the industry, I think it’s extremely important for all companies to discover how gender diversity can positively affect their businesses.
I’m excited to see businesses across the country and our industry come together for the second consecutive year to support WIT’s mission: To encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry.
The variety of businesses in attendance, as well as the individual attendees, will create an unforgettable dynamic for networking. Come learn the perspectives of women in corporate positions and drivers hauling shipments across the country. Meet people from an array of organizations including carriers, third party logistics (3PLs) companies, technology companies, health and fitness companies, and even those that offer financial services. It is amazing to capture how much value can be gained from three days at our event.
This year we have some exceptional keynote speakers lined up for our three-day event, over 30 educational sessions, and great opportunities to network. Best of all, you can be sure that everyone in attendance has a high interest in gender diversity and changing our industry for the better. We’ll also announce the most influential woman in trucking for 2016.
I think Ellen Voie, president of WIT, summed up our event nicely: “I would challenge the industry to learn more about Women In Trucking and how you can help. This is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and learn why diversity should be important to their business.” Please sign up today for the event. We look forward to seeing you in Dallas.
