Robert “Bob” Biesterfeld is the Chief Executive Officer for C.H. Robinson. With 20 years of experience, Bob has developed a deep passion for supply chain and logistics. His strategic vision and operational direction have been the driving force behind the company’s digital transformation efforts, accelerating the pace of innovation and technology deployment across the company’s platform. Prior to becoming CEO, Bob held the positions of COO, president of North American Surface Transportation, vice president of Truckload, and vice president of Robinson Fresh. He began his career with Robinson Fresh in 1999. Bob serves on the Board of Directors for the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), and as a trustee of the Winona State University Foundation. He graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor of Arts.

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the American Trucking Association’s (ATA) Management Conference and Exhibition (MC&E) in San Diego, CA. Each October, executives, owners, and thought leaders from across the trucking industry come together to discuss the current business environment and challenges, share knowledge, and—this year, more so than in recent times—promote optimism. A record crowd of 2,700 attended the conference.
